This website is the presentation page of SMC Recycling s.r.o. Its purpose is to receive enquiries about the buyback and recycling of photovoltaic panels and copper cables. Below we describe what data we process, why we process it and what your rights are. This English wording is a translation provided for information purposes; the Czech version is the binding one.

We process three groups of data:
• Data from the enquiry form — the name, e-mail, phone number and message text you fill in when you send us an enquiry.
• Data you send us yourself — if you write to us by e-mail or call us: your name, contact details and the content of the communication.
• Technical data about your visit — IP address, browser and operating system type, time of the request and the address visited. These are generated automatically whenever a page is loaded and are processed by the hosting provider as part of its operational logs.
• Enquiries and communication: the purpose is to handle your enquiry and to negotiate a contract. The legal basis is pre-contractual negotiation under Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. We keep the data for the duration of the negotiations and for 3 years afterwards (limitation period under Section 629(1) of the Czech Civil Code), and then delete it. If a contract results from the negotiations, further retention is governed by statutory periods — accounting and tax documents for 10 years.
• Operational logs: the purpose is the security and proper operation of the website, the legal basis is legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The logs are created at the hosting provider, not by us, and are retained for as long as necessary to ensure the security and availability of the website.
The website uses only technically necessary cookies provided by the hosting provider and by abuse protection. We do not use marketing or analytics cookies and we run no measurement tools on the site — which is why you will not find a cookie banner here either.
We use three processors for the technical operation of the website:
• Webflow, Inc. — website hosting and management, including storage of submitted enquiry forms (USA)
• Cloudflare, Inc. — website protection and content delivery (USA)
• Seznam.cz, a.s. — the mailbox you write to us at (Czech Republic)
We do not share data for third-party marketing and we never sell it.
Some of the processors are based in the United States of America, so data may be transferred there. Such transfers are covered by standard contractual clauses under Art. 46 GDPR and, for companies participating in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, also by that framework.
You have the right to access your data, to have it rectified or erased, to restrict processing, to object to processing and to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office for Personal Data Protection (uoou.cz).
Simply write to info@smcrecycling.cz. We will handle it without undue delay, within one month at the latest.
We have not appointed a data protection officer — our activities do not require one. We handle questions about personal data directly at the contact above.
This policy is effective from 1 October 2026. We amend it only when the way personal data is processed on this website changes.
